The crates are each large enough to hold a full-grown dwarf and there are eight of them stacked against the east wall.  There are no markings to indicate what they may contain.  They are tightly packed all the way to the ceiling and it would be difficult, if not impossible, to move or open any of them.  Presumably they would hold the same contents as the lone wooden box that sits in front of the stack.
