Deep scratches mar the blackened coating of the gloves, showing the dull brown leather underneath.  The gloves are extremely thick, as is obvious by the depth of the grooves that did not manage to break through to skin beneath. A thin fringe of red silk borders the cuff where the edge of each glove is meant to pull down over the wrist.  Protective and stylish, this pair was probably designed for a noble falconer or hawk tamer.  Whoever these gloves were made for, they must have had gigantic hands as even the stretchy, contracting leather would be loose on most humans.
