A very old and rusted sword is laying on the ground.

Perhaps at one time this was a fine blade, for it seems to be well balanced.  Yet, years of neglect have built up a layer of rust that would damage any blade almost beyond repair.  The blade under the rust still looks in good shape.  It's been a while since anyone has sharpened this blade and it would probably be a challenge to make it sharp again.  The hilt of the sword is made of silver and is in very good shape.
