The small rod, or Agiel, doesn't look all that impressive.  When wielded by a properly trained assassin, however, usually a Mord-sith of D'Hara, the Agiel causes great pain when it touches an opponent.  A small strap attached at one end can be used to hang the Agiel from the neck, or to wrap around a wrist when wielding the rod.
