The fountain itself is made of the same stone that created the walls. However, unlike the smooth seamless walls, the fountain has been split up into a tier gradually coming out of the wall to a slight crescent shaped bowl where a stone satyr is perched- leaning back against the solid tower wall.  Water spills from a hidden source at the wall and spills down the low rock tiers in a quiet trickle into the basin.  A second rivulet of water falls from the pipes held to the lips of the smirking satyr.  The water spilling through the pipes somehow sounds like certain notes played by the stone creature who gives the distinct impression of staring straight at you.

Never was there a more relaxed looking satyr in all of the world.  A smug smile tugs at the carved features of this lifesize statue.  His fingers hold his panpipe in a relaxed grip familiar to those who are adept at the instrument.  His black eyes, made of onyx firmly set into the grey stone figure, seem to stare straight at you regardless of where you move to within the room.  His elbows lean lazily on his bare, well chiseled torso, each muscle well defined in precise detail.  Below the waist, the muscular abdomen quickly vanishes into a thick mass of coarse hairs that cover the rest of his body and legs clear down to his cloven hooves.

The fifteen pieces of reed are all a varied length and lashed together with a fine piece of fiber that is hard to make out.  The flute itself is not of stone like the satyr that is playing it, but genuine reed.  The last two pipes in the flute are stained red and then green respectively, on both ends of the instrument.  It is remarkable how the water flowing from the reed pipes actually does have a hauntingly musical quality to it, as if the smirking satyr truly is playing.
