The quiver is not very long and is most likely designed to hold arrows for a short bow or perhaps bolts for a crossbow.  The leather exterior is extremely thick and the base of the quiver is reinforced so that the arrowheads will not break through.  A short strap allows the quiver to be carried on the back by strapping it over the shoulder.
