Only half tall compared to the surrounding walls, each rack is the full length of the wall it covers.  The framework is a repetitive web of crisscrossed boards that leaves a network of small diamonds.  The front set of boards is slightly higher than the rear set, so each cubbyhole is slanted slightly downward.
