The remains of a small blue ribbon are tied around the top of the key. The key is mostly flat except for the tiny round cylinder at the tip.  The key is barely the size of a gold coin and yet the set of teeth seems amazingly intricate and detailed.  Whatever lock this goes to, it was obviously designed to be quite secure.
