A shield of bone lies on the ground.

The bones are held together with strips of muscle that appear fresh and still throbbing.  Dark red blood stains the yellowish white of the shield's surface.  The bones are of various sizes and shapes but many of them appear clearly humanoid in origin.  Sharpened spikes, also made from bone, extend from the front of the shield, making it quite deadly in addition to its protective qualities.
