The nest is made from the decaying flesh of the creatures the horoth finds and slays.  Meat, bone, bile and blood, all find their way into the nest.  It is said the horoth infest this part of the UnderDark.  So large is the nest one could almost enter it, though why someone would want to enter a thing and be wrapped in decaying flesh is a whole other question.
