The gauntlets are actually a pair of stretchy nylon gloves with a curious telekinetic field around them that levitates talon-like bars of iron all around the glove at a distance of about 1 inch from the nylon.  It is as if the nylon glove is inside the floating fragments of a metal gauntlet.  With the slightest movement of the nylon fingers, the metal talons spring to life!
