The ogre skull still has flesh in the eye sockets, blood continues dripping from this exposed meat.  It is clear that the ogre killed was only a few months old, as it is still quite small for a normal ogre.  The inside of the skull has been lined with cloth so it can be worn for head protection.  The skull has a crack at the back, where the ogre was obviously hit.
