This is a copper hair ring worn by the monks who worship Lak-Taque.  The hair rings are a symbol of the monks being 'tied' to their faith and their Goddess.  For this reason all the monks wear long hair tied back with a hair ring exactly like this.  The stories that are heard about these rings are that if a monk removes it for more than an hour a curse of eternal life is put upon him.  This, however, would be an eternal life of endless pain!
