The squat altar is dark with old smoke stains and strange dark rivers of hardened goo tumble down its sides.  Barely discernible amongst the dark stains is an indented circle carved into the front of the black altar.  Deep grooves filled with the black hardened goo have been scraped into the granite shelf behind the oblong marble altar.
