The filth that covers these gauntlets actually hides the true craftsmanship and design.  Wonderful for a fight or small scrap, these gloves obviously were not intended to impress anyone but just to get the job done.  Their origins are not clear, but they have definitely passed through the hands of the scavenging kobolds.
