Three inches thick where the steel axehead joins the oaken haft, the edge of the blade measures 12 inches from sharpened point to sharpened point. Opposite the blade is a steel ball with a six inch spike.  The incredibly heavy axehead is counterbalanced by an iron ball just below the handgrip making the haft almost five foot long.
