The chandelier was magnificent, transparent shards of cut-crystal set aside emeralds and deep azure sapphires, all now laying in a shattered star on the corridor's center.  In-between the snakelike twines of the iron chains which kept the chandelier suspended above now lie many of these sharp crystals, left and forgotten.
