She wakes with a start as she feels a slight chill, as she realizes the sun is setting and is starting to get dark.  Just as the little thing starts to become frightened that she is lost and cold, she hears off to the distance the calls of her brothers as they look for her.  The oldest bounds up and lifts her high up in the air crying aloud there you are, you little rascal!  He hugs her in his relief and she is happy and safe.  As her other brothers bound into the forest clearing, one of them realizes that there is a faerie ring encompassing his little sister and cheers out loud the news.  He scoops up the abandoned flowers that had dropped from his little sister's hands and holds up the delicate chain of daisies that must have been woven for her by the faeries while she slept.  He drapes it over Elvina's little red head as they head back out of the woods to the hot dinner they knew awaited them at the house.

As she sits listening to the music, she notices sparkling colors spinning out of the surrounding forest, forming a circle around her in front of the musician.  Round and round the spinning colors go around her.  As she stares at the colors she hears tiny bell-like laughter swirling around her, and she gives a start, as she begins to see beating iridescent wings and tiny forms within the lights.  Faeries, she realizes.  Feeling dizzy from the kaleidoscope lights spinning around her and lulled by the beautiful music, she lays her head down and goes to sleep.

One day, as Elvina was picking daisies along the edge of the forest, she heard lovely but haunting flute music drifting out of the forest.  Curious, she followed the lilting melody up into the forest.  Shortly, she came upon a short little hairy man sitting on a rock playing on a set of pan flutes. Entranced, she sat down on the ground and listened as he completed his song.

Once upon a time there was a little elven girl that was quiet and good. She came from a large rambunctious family full of boys, so that she always felt that she could come and go without anyone noticing at all, besides them pulling her long braids as they walked by, anyhow.  After long mornings of pulling chores in the house with her mother, Elvina would wander out into the meadow up above the house and pick wildflowers while listening to the birds sing.

The green leather book is quite large and is heavy to lift off the shelf. Its leather is worn and shiny along the spine and places where one would hold the book to read.  The book is written in runes and very difficult to read, however one story sticks out.  It seems to be only 5 pages long, and so something that you can try your rune reading on.  Being rune reading is very difficult, only the bare gist of the story sticks out. (look 1, look 2, etc)
