Our hopes were realized that others were aiding us in magically bolstering the battered trees, with the arrival of the high druid Mikael and his warrior daughter from across the Wastelands.  The trip was rougher than usual as Jacq was injured badly by a falling tree.  Considering the harshness of the ice storm, I am amazed they made it at all.  They say we have visitors in the gardens waiting to talk to us.  I will get to them in the morning, as well as read this scroll that Mikael has given me to look at.  First I must check on Deline and the others.  The magic seemed to have drained the ladies more than the men for some reason must look into that.

The magic being pulled from the sentient trees in the Woods continues to be extremely strong as the trees are still having great difficulty resisting the dark magic that is trying to drain them of their life power.  We poured our magical energies into the crystal Matrix for three days before the trees finally gained the upper hand this afternoon.  The magical ice storm brewed by our joined struggle has abated and the land has already begun to thaw.  We now take turns maintaining the spell to protect the trees from the evil magical pull from the west.

The small leather-bound diary is open to the most recent entry.  The pages can not turn, as if they are magically sealed to prying eyes.  A quick scan of the open page mentions a recent ice storm and talks briefly about the visitors in the tower.
