These wings, stripped from the archangel, Michael, seem to have a life energy all their own.  When pressed against the shoulder blades of any member of one of the more 'evolved' races, they fuse, angel tendons growing out and burrowing under the skin to make a secure connection that, none-the-less can be broken again with a very firm tug.  The primary feathers, at the wing tips, are a pure, royal blue.  The secondary and tertiary feathers, closer to the body, fade to a brilliant white.  When the wings are folded inward, they arch above the head, adding another foot to the person's stature.
