This mithril shield is glowing brightly and producing a low humming sound, which travels even through the ground to vibrate the soles of the feet.  The shield is small, so as not to hamper a fighter's movements.  It must therefore be moved swiftly and skillfully if it is to reach its true usefulness.  On the shield is a finely painted image of a paladin kneeling before a mother and child.
