A gateguard stands here protecting the town from intruders.
The gateguard looks very strong and fit to his position, a common example of Aethelfyrd's city guard under the General Aiden. The guards are chosen for the ability to scan the horizon with staid determination for hours of watch, yet never beyond nodding friendly greeting to those passing under the city gates. Though idle in banter at the moment, each man is a trained warrior, and will defend the city at all cost.
