A woman sits here mending clothes for her family and neighbors.

The woman is dressed in average looking clothes, clean and loose.  She sits sewing from a large basket of loose clothes, evidently this is her work, and she as been doing such for many, many years.  Such work has taken its toll upon her, and she squints to thread her needles and to check fine seams.  So long has she done this, and as it is her only trade, she is not willing to give it up.
