The elven guardian watches over the forest.

Almost as ancient as the tree he watches from, the guardian lives to protect his forest.  He carefully notifies others when there is a disturbance, and using his great magical powers, can help move them to the spot quickly. With his ragged hair, and pointy ears, he almost seems comical.  But one look into those deep brown eyes negates any thoughts of mental weakness.
