A komodo dragon lumbers through the dunes.

Largest of all the nonmagical lizards, the komodo dragon is a fierce-looking beast that calls to mind a more primitive age.  This one is dark grey and about ten feet long with a forked tongue that adds another foot when he flicks it forward.  With limbs splayed out to the sides, it looks rather ungainly, but it can run as fast as a dog for short bursts.  Though their bite is not poisonous, it is slow to heal because of the deadly germs in the saliva.
