A misty white cloud hovers near the ceiling.

Filling the entire surface of the ceiling, it hangs overhead ominously. Lights flash internally, and every now and then a spark escapes.  Colors stream across the surface, in shades of red, blue, and violet.  There is almost a swirling motion deep inside the cloud, and then all colors and motion cease and it seems just like a normal cloud once more.
