a small creature

A tiny creature, no bigger than a human foot, scurries across the icy tundra.

The tiny creature, with its small and lithe, yet fur covered body, darts through the snowy fields like an arrow through the brush.  Its miniscule legs propelling it right through the drifts as though it were a gopher burrowing through the ground.  The creature's eyes are large and beady, having developed to the dim light of the artic landscape to which it has been forever confined. It cries shrilly as the snow falls harder than usually, making it very clear to any within hearing distance that not all creatures of the icescape are fully adapted to the harsh conditions in which they have been forced to live.
