the Ancient Shadow Dragon

A large black dragon lies fast asleep in the shadows of the nest.

This dragon, though very old, is not yet fully grown.  It's putrid black scales have begun to shed, and judging from the length of its tail, this is about the 10th time.  Sharp dorsal scales extend from its spine and tail into the sky like the Midnight Warlock's Tower.  The silver claws on its fore feet are razor sharp, filed to a perfect point.  The obsidian claws of its hind feet are not quite as sharp as the others, but lethal just the same.  Small puffs of black, glowing smoke escape its nostrils with every breath.
