Sam, first mate of the Tristan

Sam is a bitter middle-aged sailor, who has managed to secure a firstmate's position upon the Tristan.  Though he has long ago given up aspirations of ever being captain of his own ship, he still seems to harbor a resentment to the world and everyone in it.  He waits for passengers to give him tickets.
