a howler owl

A huge owl called a howler stands here surveying his surroundings.

Up close the owl appears almost as tall as you are and gleams with a soft silver feather coat.  The deep orange beak glistens with a red wetness as well as the dagger-like talons that drip the same juice.  Below the twin black horns on what could be called it's forehead, jet black centers mark the middle of fluorescent green gleaming eyes as they peer in your direction.  A questioning "whoooo" escapes from the beak as the eyes dilate and focus on you.
