A bat nestles upside down in a dense tangle of branches.

The bat, a smooth, even brown color, hang from a tree branch precariously. Its shrill cries occasionally breaks through the steady thrum forest life, as it wakes from its cave-less sleep.  With a rustle the bat unfurls leathery thin wings and tests the air, waiting for the right time when the insects awaken from their sleeps and take to the air.
