a marsh creeper

A twisted vine trails across the marsh.

A long, spindly vine spreads along the marshy ground, groping toward any sign of movement, twisting itself tightly about anything within its deadly grasp.  The vine is olive green in color, blending well with the muddy earth, its four-foot branches reaching outward every ten-foot length of trunk.  The main stem is nearly as thick as the trunk of a small tree.
