A very old man he seems at first glance, draped in the dusky green hooded robe of his order, white-haired, with a fine, clear face and piercing pale blue eyes. The gaze of these eyes might have been frightening, were they not serenely placid as well as penetrating, neither laughing nor smiling, but filled with calm radiance.
