a giant black urchin

A giant venomous black urchin burrows into the reef walls.

Eating its way deeper into the living coral, a giant black urchin is blind to those about it.  Its face is on its underside, which is grinding deeper into the coral.  Black venomous spines sway gently with the movement of the water around it.  A skin such as this keeps most predators away, but for those that must investigate, a crippling poison is injected with a successful puncture.  Sea urchin punctures are notorious for infection so be wary.
