a garabaldi

A blazing orange garabaldi swims under the surface.

The orange garabaldi is a common fish of the shallow, cold, not quite semi-tropic waters.  About a foot in length, its thick body still moves with amazingly quick grace among the kelp forests, its favored habitat.  Though sometimes found out of its range, such wandering is rare.
