an acid slug

A glistening trail of slime and smoking earth marks the path of an acid slug.

Six feet of slime-covered flesh, this disgusting creature first blinds and then kills its prey by spewing a weak acid onto their exposed flesh.  After allowing the acid to digest the victim, it engulfs the softened flesh, oblivious to the corrosive effect of the acid.
