a blob of dark red liquid

A blob of dark red liquid shifts in shape.

Shifting in shape, this dark red blob gives the appearance of an oversized crimson amoeba.  It is practically formless, as it never takes on a solid body.  The exteriour of the blob is similar to skin, much like that of a membrane, but the interior seems to flow like water.  A swishing noise can be heard coming from inside it.  From time to time, a deep purple disc floats near the edge of the membrane and then vanishes into the depths of the creature.
