Coiled up here upon a rock, a red snake suns itself. Watch your step!
The fastest snake to be found in these parts, the red racer has lengthy fangs, a mean wit, but no poisonous bite. With a long, whip-like body covered in dark red stripes with black crossbars wrapped around its neck, the red racer looks to be around two feet long - still a young adult. Known to move at a speed of 700 paces, you should be lucky that it so chooses to lie lazily upon the rock, basking in the sun.
