a sidewinder

Quite an enigma, a strange snake pulls itself along the path at an odd angle.

Measuring around 25 inches long, with a brownish-gray body, this sidewinder is an interesting mystery to the beginnings of science.  Unlike most snakes that crawl using bottom scales to push themselves along, the sidewinder throws its head in front of its body, using it as an anchor to pull the rest of itself along.  It is quite an efficient way to travel in this region.
