A black vulture looks you dead in the eye with its chilling gaze.

The repulsive nature of this bird tends to make people consider it an ugly one, despite its lovely black plummage and striking red feathers that adorn its chest and tail feathers.  Its curvaceous beak and powerful talons were, indeed, made for scouring meat and skin from corpses, yet it eyes you hopefully, as you could possibly be its next scavanged meal.
