A small rodent scurries around, mostly hidden in the grass.

The only connection between the rodent known as a prairie dog and an actual dog is that most dogs would gladly chow down on one of these furry little rats.  Although known to have a ferocious temper, the prairie dog is not usually considered dangerous.
