A cottonmouth snake is gliding along.

Cottonmouth snakes have elongated, triangular-shaped heads with broad thick snouts.  The eyes are located on the side of the head and the pupil is vertically elliptical.  The snake is about five feet in length and its skin is tan in color with brownish-green bands.  The long, hollow fangs of the cottonmouth fold against the roof the mouth when the mouth is closed.
