The scorbutic sailor nearly trips himself as he hurries towards you.

This sailor looks particularly ghastly, as his body's degeneration started before death set in.  In life, this zombie suffered from scurvy, and this lack of nutrients has caused the body to turn upon itself, seeking nourishment in its own tissues.  The skin was yellow in life, now a dark brown bordering on black, and with a massive wrinkling as the underlying flesh dissolved.  The result is a grimace of extreme age, an apple black from rot, ready to burst at the slightest commotion.
