The target is a round pallet of straw on a wooden stand.  The pallet has been painted with several circles, one inside another and has a red dot painted on it at the center.  The pallet seems sturdy enough to stand up to whatever abuse is thrown at it, and does not seem the worse for wear after all this time of being used.
