The Ringmaster is gesturing here.

At a distance, the Ringmaster seems to have a slightly red complexion, vaguely oriental eyes and long, black hair that comes down to his shoulders and hides his ears.  Up close, however, it is plain to see that the Ringmaster has a light dusting of red scales on his face, the slanted eyes of a serpent and is wearing a wig to cover up the fact that he has no ears.  His sharp claws and forked tongue also point toward the fact that this is no humanoid.
