A fat unicorn beetle lumbers through the leaf litter.

The unicorn beetle is a handsome, squat, tank-like bug with a metallic, pale-green exoskeleton dotted with copper-colored splotches.  It gets its name from two pointed horns on its helmet, one curving down from the forehead, the other curving up from the mouth.
