A dark patch of moss holds tightly to some imperfection in the rock.

A large patch of heavy, black moss grows here, clinging tightly to the rocky surface, and wedging its way into every available crevice.  You look away for just a moment, and when you look back again, something is not quite right, as if it had grown or adjusted itself ever so slightly.
