A large mantis-like creature stands here.

The female adult skrekk towers over the much smaller larvae, and is about as tall as most humans.  It has large scythe-like limbs on either side of its torso with smaller clawed limbs holding itself up.  Its abdomen is equipped with spinnerets to make the thick webs you see strewn about.
