A book worm wiggles upon the floor.

Kind of millipede like with spiny hairs on its back, it looks quite harmless.  A green, semi-translucent skin covers its body.  Tiny fang-like pincers protrude from what might be its head, while the other end bares a pair of red horns, so its hard to tell just which end is up.
