a venus mantrap

A beautiful golden flower is growing here.

A large golden blossom sheds a fascinatingly erotic odor, its yellow dusty pollen blowing everywhere even though there is no wind.  It is possible that the flower is forcibly expelling the pollen.  The slightly drooping flower hangs tulip-like off a thick fleshy green stalk, inviting those who pass to take a closer look.  Unfortunately, in order to get a closer look, one must step on one of the five concave green leaves, which lie unobtrusively on the ground.  Suddenly, a small pixie half-breed hops out of the bushes and over the leaf which snaps shut violently, its acidic juices setting to work immediately as evidence by the shrill screams of agony from the hapless creature within its deadly grasp.
